Side feed extrusion rheometer
No bubble is generated when feeding into the capillary cylinder
Save about 50% of test time
Shorter retention time at test temperature
Reduce thermal degradation or scorching
Testing rheological data under simulated machining conditions
Define pre-treatment - Method of testing PVT and other materials
Dry mix
Different flow modes
Pushover flow occurs when the material structure of non plasticized materials is intertwined, resulting in increased viscosity. This flow is like ice in river water with poor extrusion quality
1. horizontal thrust flow – no shear in the flow channel and high velocity wall slip
2. wall slip flow – slip on the inner wall of the flow channel and accompanied by shear flow
3. shear flow - velocity distribution - parabolic
