Synchronous thermal analysis /STA

Synchronous (integrated) thermal analyzer sta (dsc/dta-tg)

Simultaneous thermal analysis combines thermogravimetric analysis (TG) with differential thermal analysis (DTA) or differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Thermogravimetric and differential thermal information can be obtained synchronously by using the same sample in the same measurement.

Compared with TG and / or DSC tests alone, it has the following significant advantages:

• the mass change and thermal effect can be obtained through one measurement, which is not only convenient and time-saving, but also very beneficial for the occasions where the sample is very expensive or difficult to prepare because only fewer samples are required.

• eliminate the influence of weighing, sample uniformity, heating rate consistency, atmosphere pressure and flow difference, and the TG and dta/dsc curves have better correspondence.

• according to whether a certain thermal effect corresponds to mass change, it is helpful to distinguish the physicochemical process corresponding to the thermal effect (such as distinguishing melting peak, crystallization peak, phase transformation peak and decomposition peak, oxidation peak, etc.)

• real time tracking the change of sample mass with temperature / time. The calculation of enthalpy can be based on the current actual mass of the sample (rather than the original mass before measurement), which is conducive to the accurate calculation of phase change heat, reaction heat, etc.

It is widely used in ceramics, glass, metal / alloy, minerals, catalysts, energetic materials, plastic polymers, coatings, medicine, food and other fields.

Measure and study the following properties of materials:

Dsc: melting, crystallization, phase transformation, reaction temperature and reaction heat, combustion heat, specific heat

TG: thermal stability, decomposition, oxidation reduction, adsorption desorption, content of free water and crystal water, calculation of component proportion

After decades of technical accumulation and continuous improvement, Netzsch's high temperature synchronous thermal analyzer is now in the absolute leading position in the world. As a combination of dsc/dta and TG, Netzsch's synchronous thermal analyzer meets the relevant standards in the field of dsc/dta and Tg measurement.

The synchronous thermal analyzer can be combined with Fourier transform infrared FTIR or gas phase mass spectrometry QMS to obtain dsc/tg data and further detect the escaping gas in the reaction, so as to obtain more information about the material.
