The force required to test the tear of a pre notched specimen. The equipment can test weights of different weights and their combinations.


The device also allows the user to evaluate the strength of porous materials.


The manual type is used to test the impact tear strength of textiles, woven fabrics, nonwovens and coated fabrics. It can also be used to test the tear strength of silk, cotton cloth, paper, paperboard and single-layer and multi-layer corrugated paperboard.
